The Department of Basic Education’s Bana Pele ECD Registration Drive introduces a phased approach to help ECD programmes enter the regulatory system and work progressively towards compliance.

Understanding the registration journey

An ECD programme applies through the registration system and, subject to the applicable requirements, can receive initiall Bronze registration.

The programme works towards meeting the applicable requirements, submits outstanding documentation and undergoes relevant site and compliance assessments.

The programme progresses towards Silver or Gold registration once the relevant requirements have been met.
